PELVIC FLOOR DIAGNOSTICS AND THERAPY

Definition

Physio Restart is specialized in the women's pelvic floor area. The pelvic floor is a network of muscles and connective tissue located in the pelvic area and plays an important role in bladder, bowel and uterus support.

Pelvic floor physical therapy includes a variety of exercises and techniques that can help improve the relaxation, strength, endurance, and coordination. This includes:

  1. Pelvic floor & core exercises

  2. Biofeedback: This is a technique that uses special sensors to measure muscle activity in the pelvic floor and provide visual feedback. This can help learn proper muscle contraction and relaxation and improve exercise effectiveness.

  3. Electrostimulation: This uses weak electrical impulses to stimulate the pelvic floor muscles. This technique can be used in patients with severe weakness or pain in the pelvic floor area.

  4. Manual therapy (also intravaginal)

  5. Behavioural interventions

  6. Devices (vaginal weights, dilators)

course of treatment

In the beginning we will carry out the patient history taking, in which important information about your women's health, if existing pregnancy, professional and sporty surroundings are discussed. After enlightenment about the anatomy and function of the female pelvic floor, behavioral measures are instructed, recommendations for everyday life and sport are given and the possibility of pelvic floor check-uis explained. This examination can be performed during the second session using a probe and manual palpation. This examination is also harmless during an existing pregnancy. Physio Restart is in the close exchange with gynecologists in Zurich.
